  1. In the case of water damage, Apple actually includes sensors in their devices to detect whether or not the device has been exposed to fluids. If they see those sensors have been triggered, they won’t take responsibility and will charge you for any repair/replacement.
Basically, water damage causes too many expensive problems too frequently. You have to be responsible for keeping your devices dry, not Apple. This is pretty standard for any warranty on any consumer electronics.

  2. Liquid damage is not included in Apple’s One-Year Limited Warranty, but if you are covered by consumer protection laws or regulations, you might have different rights. Apple says that splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and that resistance can decrease in time as a result of normal wear. The company also encourages consumers not to expose their Apple products to pressurized water, soap, or any liquid.
