As my co as that is not the major criterion for studying psychology, times will come when you will need the ability to walk in someone else’s shoes. You have to understand where they are coming from and how you can help them.
I personally am what you call an empath. This means I internalize people’s emotions, which is unhealthy for me. It actually hurts me to my soul. Unfortunately, this also makes me unable to work in my field of study as a result. I have to limit how much I share or discuss with friends so that I don’t get too involved with my internal need to make things better for everyone!
If you feel passionate about studying psychology, I see no reason why you shouldn’t study it and I would suggest you go ahead. In the meantime, if you feel you do not know how to show empathy , you can start to work on your empathy level. It can be increased. Try to help others without motives and you will see that you will become kinder and kinder.
