Death anxiety is the conscious fear of death— do the old people develop death anxiety as they grow older or they simply embrace the fact that as they grow older they grow closer to death and there is nothing they can do to help the situation.

For the most part, it is mostly just young people who worry about their mortality. My dad is72, and he seldom thinks or worries about it. Yes, he is fully aware and know it’s a possibility. After all, about 15% of his high school class is already dead. However, some of them died a long time ago during the Vietnam War. He survived that, and haven’t worried about death ever since. My mother died two months ago. My father is very much hale, healthy and reality rocking this gravity.

Actually, the issue of death and dying is not limited to old people but applies to all of us in these carbon based bodies of ours. After all, living and dying co-exist, hand-in-hand, inseparable. The moment we’re born, we’re dying. Death anxiety is what everyone faces and experience, not limited to older folks. Younger folks are by far more conscious of their life span unlike older people. The goal of everyone is to grow old at least, and enjoy life before dying.
