Using braces is a common way to close a diastema, but an alternative to braces could include having veneers placed that are wider than your teeth in order to close the space. It would not really be advised if the diastema is quite wide as that means the veneers would make your central incisors look unnaturally wide. Also be aware that most veneers involve some removal of enamel from the surface of a tooth, and not everyone is a fan of this. Also, veneers can also debond.
Dental braces are commonly used to fix tooth gaps and other forms of misalignment in children and adults. If you have several teeth that need to be moved, you’ll likely have to wear braces for a longer period of time. Treatment lengths are determined on a case-by-case basis after seeing a dentist.
