What are some church doctrines you find insanely ridiculous?
I grew up Catholic and I was taught to wait until marriage to have children or it would be a sin (a total disgrace that may even make them ask you to leave the church). A year into our marriage, we had our first son. Now we are told to baptize him to rid him of the original sin brought to him by his parents having sex. Even though he was faithfully brought into our family after marriage. Double standards bother me.
When I heard fellow church goers talk about homosexuality being “unnatural”. This is completely false and is reminiscent of the Nazi rhetoric. I’ve no doubt these people would eliminate homosexuals if they could get away with it. Even if they wouldn’t, they still worship a god who thinks justice is torturing someone for eternity because of who they decide to love.
