The answer is yes. For all the people who are impoverished to the point where they don’t even have clean water to drink. Money can purchase new homes, a system to extract clean water, an irrigation system to enable crops to grow, education, better living conditions etc. Because of all of these, little children won’t have to resort to joining the local militia in order to simply survive, since their home will be able to meet all of their survival needs. Not having enough food to eat, clean water to drink and being forced to kill family members by local militia is a bleak and miserable existence. This is the existence that one billion people world wide live in. Money brings hope. It brings change. It means that the essential needs that we take for granted could one day become universal. All we have to do is distribute it better.
Okay. But there is a limit to how much happiness money can bring. Well that is more of a psychological question. Money can help you meet all of your survival needs. What is having lots of money, if you are lonely, isolated and hated by everyone? What is having all the luxuries in life if not one thing can make you happy? In which case, money isn’t the problem. Money is not making anyone unhappy. That is a complicated psychological issue that has been discussed at great lengths by philosophers, religious scholars and social scientists.

I strongly believe that money gives happiness. I have done that for myself infact. People generally see money as the root of all evils. I am not that person. My relationship with money is very cordial and we love each other. I am not wealthy yet, but I am not broke either. We both take care of each other, and make each other happy by helping each other all the time. My Dad was once diagnosed with stage 2 Prostate Cancer in 2019. The world turned around for me completely. I have never seen him sick, apart from some sore throats once in a while. And then we came to know he was fighting with cancer which must have been there for over 2 years before it was diagnosed.
The first thing I did was to get him to Hyderabad, and we went to the top 2 hospitals there for further diagnosis, treatment, and second opinion. At no point in time, I had to think about the cost of the treatment, from where will the money come, and stuff like that.
At the end of the 8 months long treatment, I am very happy with how I was able to take care of my Dad.
Did money buy me happiness? Obviously yes. The same treatment and care would not be possible without money. Almost 50% of it was covered under insurance, but for better care, I always opted for the premium services and it was only possible because of money.
