Can being lonely for too long cause Asperger in a person?

Can I possibly develop the Aspergers’ symptoms if I stay lonely for too long a period of time? Is there any connection between Aspergers and long term loneliness?

  1. As someone with the syndrome, can only speak for myself, but I’d say reverse is the case. Aspergers causes loneliness because it draws your away from everyone. I find immense pleasure in solitude. I love to be alone. But I do tend to develop dark depressive thoughts when alone for too long. So I know that I need people, but I grow tired of being around people for extended periods of time. I usually don’t make plans to hangout with people. The only events that I set up are video chats.
