It’s very usual for people to assume all crossdressers are homosexual. While some may be homosexual, there are definitely crossdressers that are straight.

Yes. I am a straight female and I have also participated in cross dressing. It was a hobby I’d do with my cousins when I was a kid and nowadays I do it for theatrical productions or to just be funny. But also I’m a straight female and have only ever had interest in men. I’m sure you’re gonna get plenty of other answers where people are gonna give their personal stories of why they do it habitually. I’m just here to say you don’t have to be gay to dress as the opposite gender. Sexuality is not dictated by gender. But that paints the picture that everyone who cross dresses is trans which isn’t true. I’m sure there are other people who are going to explain it a lot better than me, I just wanted to give examples of how cross dressing isn’t a sexual thing. It simply isn’t.
The notion that men crossdress as women to attract other men is so 1950 Lots of silly and outdated stereotypes being propagated.
First of all, basically every gay guys I know is interested in men. The maleness of men is what turns them on and interests them. Even the most effeminate gay guy I know is focused on attracting other gay men, who again, are not interested in lady bits. Keep this in mind, what clothing is considered normal to wear is based on a social construct. Men wear suits and ties and women wear dresses is something that is a social normative behavior. Men in the south sea islands wear sarongs and scotsmen wear cute little kilts and no one accuses them of being gay. Sexuality and being straight or gay is a sexual orientation. Sure, you can be gay and crossdress, but there’s no direct link between sexuality and the clothes that people are wearing.
The vast majority of crossdressers are hetrosexual. The reason for crossdressing are varied across the spectrum.
