It feels like a waste of time to me, must I learn this?
Yes you need to learn as a Backend developer. They are very essentials every web developer needs to know. HTML provides the basic structure of sites, which is enhanced and modified by other technologies like CSS and JavaScript. CSS is used to control presentation, formatting, and layout.
The visual aspects of the website that can be seen and experienced by users are frontend. On the other hand, everything that happens in the background can be attributed to the backend. Languages used for the front end are HTML, CSS, JavaScript while those used for the backend include Java, Ruby, Python.
