A planning permission usually takes eight weeks to be granted, unless your application is unusually complex, in which case the deadline can be extended to 13 weeks. It could take a couple of days or even a couple of weeks for the council to validate a planning application and this usually depends on whether they have all the correct information they need from you.
It highly depends on your state, every state or jurisdiction has their own rules they follow. But generally, they’ll have to consider the size and complexity of the project, pre-approval from planning, backlogs at regional offices and quality of the submission, basically to check for missing documents, bad drawings, etc.
