      There are many laws that protect children working in the industry, and rightfully so. It’s also a bit cheaper to hire adult actors in the long run. If you have two actors auditioning for a high school student, one being 15 and one 18, both equally as talented and had the young look we need, I’m most likely going to pick the 18yo. I don’t need to worry about permits, school tutors, or dealing with parents who try to be managers. This would be the case for any lead cast members. When it comes to co-stars, then it’s easier to bring in younger actors because less time is needed from them on set.
