It depends on the passenger, you can always rate the driver lower if he doesn’t get your permission first. But, since getting gas during the ride is not one of those things that are specifically forbidden. If passengers can ask the driver to stop while they shop, or take them through a drive-through, then drivers can ask passengers to wait while they get gas. Yes, it might cost the customer more, although it might not either.

What are the safety tips air hostess may not tell you (but actually useful if applied) when a plane is about to crash?

First, rid yourself of anything that is sharp. Loosen your belt and free your clothes as well. Identify the closest exit door and make a note of the number of seats there. Stay in your seat until a member of the cabin crew says you can leave the aircraft. Always follow instructions from the stewardesses. Never open a door without being told to by a attendant either. If there is smoke, drop onto the floor immediately, you will be able to breathe better that way.
If you have one, use a piece of cloth that is damp you can tie over your mouth in the event of smoke. Leave unvaluable things behind, you can always replace them later on. Oh and do not panic this increases your chances of survival.
If you have a child, make sure they are calm too. Have a plan that you can stick to in the event of a emergency onboard the flight. Help them take off their seatbelt. Figure out if you’re over the sea or not. If you are, prepare for a water landing scenario to happen. If you’re with a baby tell the attendants. Plane crashes don’t always kill everyone it depends on the situation.
