From my point of view, my pup is my child. You would never tell your kid to get off your bed or that they aren’t allowed on the couch. A dog would without hesitation give its life for its owner. The least I could do is let my dog be comfortable wherever she wants during her time. Couches, beds, blankets, etc can be replaced. So yes, my dog is allowed on the couch and also allowed to sleeps in bed with me.

If the dog is barking at the door, you can go stand with them and wait until they stop barking. Reward them for no barking with a treat and then immediately take them outside. And if you ever catch your dog going potty inside, say no sternly and quickly take them outside. Never punish them, just teach.
