There’s no specific length of time it takes to become a UX Designer. If you have some experience and knowledge on this topic, then you could spend a year or less on education. Those who possess no experience or knowledge on UX Design should consider attending a university or taking an online course first. That means it may be roughly two years, sometimes four, before you truly understand UX Design.

I work with the “What gets measured gets managed”, that way, I’m able to stay afloat and manage my tasks. For me it’s helpful to keep a log of how much I’ve worked. I have a spreadsheet with a column for every hour and a row for every date. Every few hours I fill in how many minutes I really worked for each hour that day. Then I total it up for the day and week respectively. It helps me to see what patterns work for me and also I can set goals to work for particular hours total next week. It’s kind of fun, like a game. For example, I noticed that I take really long breaks but I can also work for 4 hours continuously.
