As an EMT we are trained to stabilize the impaled object and transport. The object could very easily be applying pressure on arteries or veins, preventing them from bleeding out from the cuts. Body tissues are rigid, they will reform around the wound, so even if you are 100% perfect in keeping the knife along the initial entry path you’ll still end up cutting even more tissue causing even greater damage. In that way it’s possible to turn a survivable wound into a fatal one. So apply pressure to stop any external bleeding and try to keep the object in place and call 911.

Firstly, find out why your child doesn’t want to go to school. Often times parents jump to conclusions, and take a firm stance with their children when they might be needing some compassion and support. On the outside it might seem like your child is just being lazy, but there could be a whole lot going on that is causing them to refuse to go to school. School isnt meant to exactly be a fun magical place that children love to go, but if everything normal it should be bearable and there can be some enjoyment in getting to see friends. That means that if everything is going normally at school a kid is probably going to find school a bit annoying but not such a bad thing that they will refuse to go. There could be a lot of different things affecting your child.
