There is no way to encrypt or lock files or folders on an apple phone. But this his what you can do, you can get apple-friendly applications that allow you do lock or hide folders and files. Also, you may want to make sure you get an app that you can put a security code, the one that requires a code before you even launch the app.
There are a lot of apps that do that on App Store, all you have to do is to look and check for one compatible with your device. There is one I use, “Secret Photo Album”. It just looks like a calculator. People will never find out my private data hidden on my iPhone unless they got the password. It’s quite safe and convenient for me to store my photos.
