I felt a really sharp cramp in my lower abdomen and I saw some blood come out though it was little, I am expecting my period in a few days.

that is not weird at all, it might be an early start on your period, cramps are also not so rare that you should be scared of, it is normal for periods to come early or just the body dispelling some dirt, be on the look out though, it might be more.
