It’s no news that hotels don’t and should not have cameras in their rooms, having cameras in their hall ways, entrances and every other place but the rooms. Peradventure, you found one in the room you’re lodged in, what would you do?
Would you sue the hotel management if you found a camera hidden in your hotel room?

As long as you are paying to stay in the hotel room, you have every right to ask questions from the hotel management if you notice suspicious devices mounted in the room, they are obliged to tell you what each device does. Installing a hidden camera in a hotel room violates your privacy and it is a punishable offence.
Many states in the U.S frown at installing cameras where a certain level of privacy is expected.
Except for the law enforcement agency, and for the purpose of investigation or tracking a person of interest, which might have even gotten approval from the office of the DA, no one is permitted to do this.
Of course I’ll sue them, that’s invading on my privacy. First thing to do is to get photos, photos of the hidden camera. Then, call the police, have them come in, and make a report. The hotel detective/security will probably get involved when they see that the police is there. I think you should make a big stink about it. Who knows what else is going on there!
