Work, work cuts across just doing something to pay off bills. A job is part of a person, a person’s job can tell a lot about who they are.
People spend a considerable portion of theirlives at work or otherwise engaged in work-related activities. Correspondingly, organizations are often crucial in shaping a person’s identity. There is a an interaction between identity and work environments such that they influence each other. Peoples are more likely to go for jobs that correspond more to their innate traits. Identity can influence work environments as the perception of misalignment between one’s preferred work identity and work situation can influence attempts to change the environment through job crafting. It can also be said to be the case that a strong professional identity can be as a result of job satisfaction and sense of accomplishment.

Your work life has a great influence on the generality of your life, the effects of the type of job you do can be easily seen in the type of life you live. Work influences a person’s life, greatly. During my early years at work, I realised I love showing up to work really cute, smelling nice and bright. I started shopping really nice outfits for work, I loved my first job, it really shaped my understanding of work life. During my stay at the job, you could catch me in anything but you could never catch me in a dumb office fit. People started complementing me, then I realised I may have a thing for fashion. My work propelled me into seeing that side of me I never thought existed.
