Soda increases the risk of ailments like diabetes and tooth disease. Soda drinkers have an increased likelihood of weight gain and increased waist measurements.

Replace soda with diet soda, then slowly cut down on that. Yes you will have the hard core fitness nuts telling you its horrible for you. Is it good for you? No. But it’s better than drinking a can of sugar. Plus water gets boring. Rember you are just starting out on your journey. Take it one step at a time.
I’m no scientist, and I’m not going to pretend to know why exactly soda is any worse for you than any other sugary, carbonated drink, but on my campaign to lose weight I stopped drinking everything but water. Soda is just too sugary for me anyway and I probably would never drink soda again since I’ve found the goodness attached with not drinking soda.
