My colleague at work is always eating from my lunch, I find this really annoying but I’ve never told her.

Someone nicking your food is a minor annoyance and you should speak to your boss or HR about it if you don’t feel comfortable speaking to the person doing it. Another thing you can do is to put your name on your lunch so it’s obvious that it is not someone else’s lunch. Or you write “do not touch” on it
Ask them to stop. If your colleague is too poor to provide his or her own food, you may choose to help out. But taking without asking is theft. If it’s an ongoing issue and the coworker isn’t bringing their own food, they may not be able to afford food. But, them eating your food is also putting a burden on you financially. I would politely refuse the next time they ask. And if you are close to them maybe ask if they need help with food.
