It’s the heater control valve that is probably not working properly and sticking in a position that blocks both flows; the main radiator and the internal radiator for the interior of the car. Reseat the wire to the heater control valve to make sure it is getting the full current and voltage available. Give the body of the valve a tap with the tire iron while the car is running to see if that will loosen up the valve temporarily If you see that the terminal is rusted, you may have to clean it with some emery and spray it with WD-40 or similar.
You car can overheat due to some things; Low coolant is the main reason for overheating of car. Engine cooling system relies on coolant to circulate and remove the heat. Electric cooling fan failure is another reason that leads to engine overheat. The electric cooling fan draws cooler air through your radiator when your car is not going fast enough to ram it through the front. Thermostat failure is also one of the reason for overheating of the vehicle. Broken fan belt also leads to the overheating of the car. Clogged radiator is also one of the reason for overheating of the car.
I was also facing the same problem with my Corolla.
