There are activities allowed in Las Vegas that are sanctioned everywhere else, such as legal sex clubs, advertising in the Yellow Pages Phone book for escorts, etc. Everyone assumes that prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. But that’s a touchy myth. It is not legal in Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, but the legal Brothels are all located outside of Clark County, surrounding Las Vegas. But if you are out on the strip, downtown Las Vegas or surrounding areas, you witness it alive and well and in the open. Billboards advertising Girls, Strip Clubs, etc. are everywhere, and not hidden.
Much has to do with the history going back to mob days. Today there is a lacing when it comes to enforcement of minor crimes of those parting as long as no one was harmed. Recently they have cracked down on alcohol related issue such as DUI. Booze, gambling and sex are big reasons. There are hookers even though the nearest legal brothel is over an hours drive from Vegas. Sex is easy to find as members of both sexes really let down their hair when they are here. But these issues are for tourists as most here are regular honest working people.
