I’ve quite noticed that when women are onto their period, they tend to get in their feelings. They get extra emotional, and tensed. Why is this?

Women do get emotional before and during periods. It is called PMS- Pre Menstrual Syndrome. A group of symptoms that occur in women between ovulation and the menstrual phase of menstrual cycle, which gets worst during 4 days before period and mostly goes away 2-3 days after the period begins is called PMS. It is characterized by the following symptoms: Mood swings, tender Breasts, Food Cravings, Irritability, Depression. All these happen because of fluctuating hormone levels of estrogen, progesterone and serotonin.
A lot of things go on the body of women when they are about to get their period, during their period and even after their period. It’s such a petty thing to say they get in their feelings during their period, it is expected. Most times they can’t even control it, they just act they way they do on impulse. God bless our women.
