I’ve never actually realised emojis were in colours until I started chatting with this particular person who made it absolutely necessary to always correct me to use the appropriate colour of emoji while chatting. I don’t think it’s something serious but I got to know many people take it so serious.
Why do people pay so much attention to something as trivial as the skin tone of emojis?

Personally, I feel it really doesn’t matter at all. You can use whatever emoji you like irrespective of if your skin color. If anyone gets offended by you using a darker or lighter skinned emoji, they’re sensitive. I’m not saying this to be rude and I hope I don’t come off mean, but come on.. it’s an emoji. As long as you’re not using it to be offensive to others, it shouldn’t matter.
Well nobody has the right to dictate what skin color your emojis should be. People use emoji with skin tone modifiers for self-reference. So It’s also about the intention behind it. Are you doing it to cuss someone down or to take the piss out of somebody or demoralize them? Or just for fun without trying to cause offense? Is your use of those emojis intentional?
