Why do people never speak about my good traits, is it that I might not have any or they simply don’t want to acknowledge it?

Nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes, even the people who are criticizing you. It is much easier for people to see what you are doing wrong than see what you are doing right. If they are offering constructive criticism, thank them for their observations and tell them you will try to do better next time. The situation will be completely diffused. If they are just criticizing, just say “Yeah, nobody’s perfect, at least I will learn from my mistakes.”
You should at least attempt to learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them; but on every try, there will always be something that could have been done better. It is easier to drive from the back seat than to take the responsibility on yourself.
There is another phenomenon that is also a possibility. Sometimes people are too inexperienced or not intelligent enough to see that what you are doing may actually be the right thing, but because they failed to see your intent or intended goal, they may criticize or advise against what is right. As you gain experience, learn to trust in yourself more and less in the unqualified opinions of those who are not actually trying to help you.

One of the best lessons I ever had to learn hard in life is never to allow my worth to be determined by others. Never allow others be the dictator of your self worth. Why seek validation from others when you can simply do you? Everyone has two sides, it’s a shame if people only see your negative side, and that’s totally not your fault. You do not need to wait on what people will say about you before you do something. I read it somewhere recently that, “people have a lot of good things to say about you, but you have to die first”. That day, I stopped seeking validation in what other s say about me.
