I am so guilty of this. Anytime I’m cleaning my space and I bring my stuff out, I see things that I’ve never used. Most times when I buy things, I just end up giving them out. Why did I buy them in the first place when I won’t use them? Urrgghhhh…Probably I had the uses in my head when I was buying them but they faded or I just totally forgot about them. This is very common to a lot of people and it’s not restricted to just one gender. What causes this?
Why do people buy things they often end up not using or things they don’t even need at all?

People have different reasons for doing that, some are not even conscious of the fact that they do that. For me, it is therapeutic when I shop for things I probably don’t need. I see a pair of flats that look so fancy, I buy it. Why? It simply makes me feel good.
I have this issue with clothes especially. Whenever I tend to struggle before I find an outfit to wear in my closet, at that moment, I’m already thinking of buying more clothes. I don’t like repeating clothes, so in the process of buying, I just buy things I don’t have need for—either present need or future need. I just buy them, probably because I just wanna have them.
