No, it’s not normal. Bloody phlegm can come from bacterial infections of the lungs and airways and can also be a result of lung cancer. You need to go to a doctor for evaluation. Causes of bloody phlegm can include lung infection with pneumonia, bronchitis, tuberculosis, parasites, cystic fibrosis, nosebleed, pulmonary edema, chest trauma, mitral stenosis, and lung cancer.
