A colleague of mine at work kinda referred to me as a wannabe entrepreneur, I know it can’t be something cool but of course I couldn’t argue over something I do not know.

Otherwise known are “wannatrepreneurs”, these are people whose intention is to be living the life of an entrepreneur, as opposed to people whose intention is to build a business. Wannabe entrepreneurs tend to have brilliant ideas, but no capabilities or interest in realizing any of these ideas. There’s only hot air. They don’t want to take risks. By definition, an entrepreneur is a risk-taker. They have mediocre ideas. For those of you who have even a broad understanding of product/market fit, market research, product development it will be very easy to challenge their idea. In most cases, they won’t be able to defend their idea. They have too little knowledge and experience. There’s nothing wrong with being a wannabe entrepreneur as long as you’re seriously interested in getting closer to becoming an entrepreneur.
A wannabe entrepreneur is someone is so engrossed with everything “entrepreneur” but never actualize it. These people tend to read voraciously on the subject, attend meetups for entrepreneurs, post frequently on public forums, join committees, quote the latest gossip and news from the tech blogs, they know everything about entrepreneurship except the only thing they do not do is start a business. In contrast, the real deal just goes out and does it. You rarely hear them talking, but if you look closely, you just see them doing. Nothing stops them, and they find ways to push on through regardless of having the same challenges as the wannabes.
