Manchester City are the third most likely place for Messi to play next season, and he could reunite with Pep Guardiola in England. Having signed Jack Grealish and with Harry Kane expected to follow, though, City might be committed to other plans already. It’s less likely that he decides to go to Major League Soccer just yet. While he wants to play there, the No.10 has plans to play at the highest level for a little longer before winding down in the USA.
Paris Saint-Germain appear to be the early favourites to land Messi this summer. With Neymar already in the squad and a number of Argentines as well, the French side have been building a project focused on bringing the Champions League to the Parc des Princes.
Then there’s the chance of a u-turn and for Messi to stay at the Camp Nou. The biggest complication in his renewal has been LaLiga’s salary limits and an inability to register the player, but anything is possible until August 31.
