Making money with a blog is not an overnight thing. Heck, it might not even be a 3 month thing. It really depends on the niche and keywords that your blog is targeted and how competitive that niche is. Your new blog won’t have the same authority as established sites and it takes time to show Google who’s boss.
Now if it’s just any amount that you want to make it may not take too long. Again it comes down to your keyword research and targeting. If you’re in a competitive niche don’t expect cash overnight. You’re going to have to put in some work to rank. I would suggest, no matter what niche your blog is in, to have a good promotional plan. Instead of waiting around on Google rankings have a solid plan on how to promote your blog and generate traffic. This could be social media, guest posts, or sponsored links. However you plan to do it is fine, just have a plan to begin with. You’ll have traffic to your blog faster while building backlinks that will help your rankings down the road.
Blogging is one of those things that takes a bit of time to get rolling. You need to focus first and foremost on creating quality content that would be interesting for people to read. I suggest you make a blog around your hobby, something you truly care about. This way, you won’t ever get tired of the process.
That being said, once your blog begins to grow and it starts ranking on Google, you can use various strategies to make money.
Look at Google trends and see what is trending at the moment, what people talk about. You can use those topics, for example, to make product reviews. Don’t just go for what everyone is always talking about, but rather what is becoming popular at the present moment. This way, your blog can be one of the first to get noticed on the internet.
If you know how to use keywords, then I suggest that you don’t go for the typical, popular, short tail keywords. Regardless of the search volume, the competition is too high and you won’t be able to rank in the search engine results. Blogging takes time and requires you to be strategic, sometimes implementing things that seem counterintuitive. But that’s ok. By sticking to it, you will be ahead of all the people that get discouraged and quit. That is what will separate you from everyone else. Just don’t stop. Keep writing, keep experimenting, keep learning.
