A lot of people ruin their intense workout with bad choices of meal. You need food post-workout to restore your energy, build muscle, and boost your metabolism, but the wrong kind can undo the hard work you just put into working out. Kindly share your best post workout meals in the comments.

I eat a meal that is very high in protein diet, such as protein shakes, eggs, meat and cheese. The kind of meal you opt for largely depends on the purpose of the workout.
It depends on the duration of the workout. I try to have a non-artificial drink immediately and to eat within half an hour of completing the workout. If I’m not going to be able to eat before then I’ll have a post-workout protein drink. Otherwise I try to eat salmon or chicken with spelt pasta or brown rice and avocados, lots of salad and greens such as broccoli or Belgian endives. The aim is to replenish glycogen stores and to consume a quick source of protein to reduce or stop muscle catabolism. Also, berries: blueberries, blackberries and raspberries are my favorites for dessert. These berries are great anti-oxidants to help reduce oxidative stress on your body.
