Cars overheat due to a failure of something, maybe the temperature regulator or fan, or just loss of coolant slowly that was not made up till it became critical. High temperatures thin out oil, so hopefully it has not failed the bearings, and if you get it cooled off, check the coolant level, top it up if low, start it and assess if the thermostat is opening, then you might be able to save it if you fix the problem before something catastrophic happens like the head gasket blows, that is the usually next thing when you have an overheat.
Check to make sure radiator fins are not clogged with bugs and road crud.check coolant level. Try flushing radiator and new coolant water mix. Drop in new thermostat when flushing. Other than that it’s possible your water pump is not working correctly like it lost a fin or something. Another possibility is head gasket blew. That may be a trip to mechanic at that point.
