Helping a lot of less privileged was my greatest 2020 achievement. Ensuring every month without fail, I either go down to a home and do community service or do donation. It is something very personal and close to me, growing up in an orphanage home myself, I have firsthand experience on how sad and tough growing in such environment could be.
Now that I’ve resumed work fully, I may not be as much active as before this year but I will certainly do my contribution every month without fail. It is now a habit. It may not be a big contribution now but it’s the thought that counts, right? It brings satisfaction to my soul that someone somewhere in the world, I helped a soul. I am being blessed by that soul.
I’ve read more books in 2020 than I ever have. Reading a lot of books has opened my eyes to a whole new way of living. Reading has never been a consistent habit of mine. Perhaps the whole Covid-19 lockdown fostered it. I’d usually find an interesting fiction book series, devour them as fast as I possibly can, and then spend months and sometimes years not reading any other books. This happened until I discovered audio books. You see, when you read a book by text, you need to dedicate time out of your day to do that since it isn’t really easy doing other things while reading. But when you read audio books, you can do a ton of other stuff simultaneously.
Mainly, I read audio books during my commute to and from work, which makes about two hours a day. Take approximately 20 days a month, and I’ve got 40 hours a month. I read at least 4 books in a month. All this just by listening to audio books during my commute instead of listening to music. I also developed the habit of listening to my audio books while walking, cleaning or doing non strenuous activities. Doing that, I’ve added more hours. In total, I read about 65 books in 2020. This new year, I definitely intend to find more books to read.
