The scapegoat syndrome is when you don’t get lucky with what most people would get lucky with. For example, some people might’ve getting lucky with gambling but when it gets to your turn, you lose all your money. Basically, it’s the state of not getting lucky with a lot of things that seem like easy-peasy for a lot of other people.
Scapegoat syndrome is really terrible. Both of my parents are narcissists. My mother actually tried to kill me through indirect means at least six times before I was eight years old. She and my father told the entire family lies about me. The purpose was to isolate me so I would not have any love or support from anyone. Luckily, I had my maternal grandmother. But she paid dearly for it. My mother treated her very badly. Two of my sisters are narcissists. They always have looked down their noses at me. They would tell people at school that I wasn’t related to them. Because they thought I was stupid, weird, and embarrassing. They would steal my clothes, money, etc. No consequences for them. I no longer talk to them – for the last 15 years. Had to walk away from the entire family to rebuild my self esteem, and sanity. I spent a few years in therapy, which really helped.
