I recently learnt not to insert cotton buds inside my ears to remove wax, not safe. How do I remove wax in a safe way?

Well, don’t use a stick, I heard that this didn’t work, it’s wax like so you will need something that will handle a material with low solubility. This means heat, I’ve used a blow dryer to warm the ear and water myself, they make solutions for this cleaning, but you may be off in your diagnosis, infection of dead matter from one behind the ear can seem a lot like a build up symptom wise. I don’t have deep ears anymore, I can touch my ear drums just by taping my finger across my ear, not sure why the depth was reduced or is so shallow, but I hear just fine and cleaning is easy.
My own technique is to use moisturizer soap in the shower. I spread the soap on my hands as if I’m washing them. I spread the soap all around my ears and around the outer ear canal. Then I let the water from the shower spray onto my ears one at a time as well as let the very warm water flow into the ear canal. Then I tilt my head to let it drain. I do this a couple of times for each ear. I have never had pain or wax problems. Is this the safest way to clean your ears? I’m not sure, but it’s what I do.
