  1. An SSD has no moving parts and is much faster than a hdd but cost more per GB, SSD are usually used for OS and frequently used applications and hdd for mass storage. SSD’s are smaller and much faster, that’s why they’re mostly better. Having a HDD for storage is also good because they are fairly cheap.

  2. The big difference is between how data is stored and retrieved on either drives. HDD has moving parts, so how fast things work depends on how fast these moving parts move. So the speed is limited. SSD is essentially flashing light to send messages and work. And as you know light is the fastest thing we know. So these can operate much faster than HDD.
