Probably because you look good, wear nice quality and stylish clothes, shoes and accessories. I know rich people and no matter what high end designer they wear, they do not always look great. Other people may wear just a regular fashion item and they wear it well, looking like a million buck. I don’t see any harm in it, you can simply consider it a compliment. People may be jealous of you, but that’s what happens when you always look good, carry yourself well, show confidence, groom yourself and speak some amount of charisma and intelligence. It’s generally meant to be a positive thing but can get awkward.
If someone think you’re rich, that’s okay, right? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, except they want to start dumping responsibilities at you. I act like I have extra money because I don’t treat money as my source of happiness. Money for me is just a necessity to buy stuffs and secondary to my happiness. I like peace of mind, contentment and just being happy. With or without lots of my money, my life is the same. Whenever there’s contribution to buy food at work, I’m in and I buy birthday gifts for those celebrating their birthdays. I’m not trying to be likeable, I am that way. I treat everyone equal.
