Someone can be said to be semi-retired if they continue to work, but not for as many hours as they used to, especially because they are getting older and want time to do other things. Instead of going straight from full-time work to dropping out of the workforce entirely, some people choose to transition to fewer hours, or leave a demanding full-time job for something less stressful or more fulfilling, even if it pays less. This is known as semi-retirement.
Semi retired people are individuals who are not fully retired, but they’re no longer working the full hours they used to work. They don’t necessarily have to be old folks, a lot of people are semi-retired, they’re working but not to full and usual capacity.
