As if it’s depression? Something like being numb, the absence of my emotions. Nothing makes me laugh, nothing soothes my anxiety. I feel nothing, hollowed out. Like someone scooped every emotion and feeling out of me and I can do nothing. When you no longer feel like yourself. When you start to question what exactly is and isn’t wrong with you. It feels like the painful lump in your throat before you cry. But it’s in the pit of your stomach and nothing relieves it. Eventually you get used to the pain and you don’t notice it as much. But when you do notice it, it consumes you and you can’t focus on or feel anything else.
Exhaustion. Lack of motivation. Reminiscing on the things that used to bring you joy, but the thought of them now makes you feel nothing. Empty feeling is forcing yourself to do those things and telling yourself that it doesn’t feel hollow and using friendship as a distraction. But also not being able to ignore it when you’re finally alone. Feeling lonely and depressed but also not having any tears to cry. Wanting to change everything but the effort involved sounds monumental. Nothing matter to you, you really just to want to lay in bed and not get up for nothing.
