Many times, I suddenly wake up from my sleep, especially when I’m dreaming, then when I wake up suddenly, it’s as though someone or something dragged me.

These are Hypnic jerks. They are commonly caused by fast heartbeats or anxiety. Sometimes they can make a falling sensation. We all know that if you are falling when you are asleep, our body wakes us up. So when the jerk happens, and we get the feeling that we are falling, we are falling in our dreams and suddenly we wake up.
These dreams can be extremely frightening & vivid, and that lasts minute before you hit the ground. We experience this kind of dreams when have lost control in some aspects of our daily life that needs to be corrected.
Our dreams are formed from our past experiences or activities of every day life. The reason you wake up suddenly with a twitch is because you were most likely about to fall down in your dream but you didn’t hit the ground simply because we have not experienced death so we cannot form a mental image of life after death. Even if you don’t wake up from sleep, sometimes you just stop dreaming or switch completely. The switching from one dream to another has happened to me many times before. That’s another reason why blind people dream in white and black, because coloured images cannot be formed in their minds since they don’t see colour. I’ve also some blind people who only dream of their childhood because they could see when they were younger and later got blind or others who only dream of voices they recognise but have no images.
