Eyeball tattooing is the permanent colouring of the white part of the eyes. This procedure is undertaken by only a few tattoo artists around the world. It is permanent and non-reversible.

  1. I honestly think that it is crazy that someone would tattoo their eyes. They look cool and creepy at the same time but is it really worth taking the risk of possibly going blind. I watch a couple of series on youtube who went to the extreme when it came to tattooing their bodies and a women ended up becoming blind due to getting her eyeballs tattooed.

  2. Eyeball tattooing is crazy dangerous. The white shell of the eyeball, is roughly the thickness of two playing cards, and relatively soft. If you puncture that, you can introduce contaminated material inside the eye and cause an infection or retinal detachment, leading to permanent blindness. You can’t go to the local Wal-Mart and buy another eye at any price. Another risk is that you have no idea of what sort of chemicals are in the ink that is injected. There are no pigments that I know of that have been tested to be safe under the conjunctiva. There are limitless possibilities for chemical irritation, infection, or allergic reactions to the inks. Finally, think about how that eyeball tattoo will look to your next prospective employer. What seemed like a great idea when you are stoned or drunk may condemn you to a lifetime career as a pizza delivery person or drink server at a bar.
