There is a direct relationship between poverty and unemployment. Unemployment and poverty are two major challenges that are facing the world at present. Unemployment leads to poverty. Unemployment is a sign of poverty, it leads to financial crisis, hunger, gloom, indebtedness etc. An unemployed person has no means to earn money and cannot fulfill his own and his families basic needs. He and his family cannot avail quality education, medical facilities and has no means to create income earning assets.
One can be employed all of his or her life and yet be living in poverty. One can be unemployed and yet be rich. There are no real causation. I would say that poverty of means such as education, skills, health, motivation, ethics, morals etc often results in unemployment. Having jobs that pay poverty level wages leads to poverty. Having an ever increasing cost of living leads to poverty. Having stagnant wages along with a gig job economy leads to poverty.
