As a teacher, how do you know if your student contracted his or her assignment or thesis out to be written by another person?

Well, they may not be able to tell if you paid someone, but they can easily tell if you wrote it or not. Teachers tend to get a pretty good feel for what a student is capable of. Your style of writing and grasp of English would probably be different from that of your paid writer. Your teachers already know how you speak and write, and they’ll likely see the difference in your paid writer’s work. They’d probably know right away that it’s not your work.
The thing is, your teachers have seen your classroom work, your homework, have listened to your speech. They are familiar with your sentence structure and your vocabulary. If you have hired someone to write your paper, unless that person has the same speech mannerisms as you, a similar vocabulary, and roughly the same competence or lack of it when it comes to writing, then yes. Your teachers will probably know you’re a cheat.
