Are you of the opinion of taxing the rich and wealthy more than ordinary individuals, just because they’re rich?

It’s not that rich people should have to pay more taxes, it is the fact that rich people need to start paying what they are supposed to in taxes. The loopholes need to be closed. The kickbacks and subsidies to companies that are already making billions need to be closed. They need to stop being able to hide their money in foreign accounts, etc.
To some extent I agree. It’s necessary for society for the rich to pay more tax, although it isn’t entirely fair. However, since when has fairness ever being an acceptable argument for the distribution of money? If an economic society were to be fair, then wages would be based on the work effort, not some imaginary hierarchy. To be honest, the rich receive a lot of the money, for really doing nothing. Shares and investments are a luxury only the wealthy can afford, which generally only stand to make them richer.
