I think it’s the optane memory. Normally the optane memory serves as a cache. Your laptop constantly processes your usage to know which files to keep in the optane memory. This happened to me and I just turned off the optane memory from intel optane memory app. Try it and it will probably solve your issue.
Is your laptop a 4k screen? Cos any laptop with a 4k screen will generate significantly more heat due to sightly increased demand on the gpu, which will generate more heat as a result, and slightly more demand from the battery, which will also cause more heat. The majority though, will come from the screen itself. It has 4 times the pixels packed into a little screen than a 1080p/FHD screen which means 4 times the heat. Driving the 4k pixels is a big heat and power draw. You’ll still have to drive them to do the display but reducing the resolution will decrease how hard the graphics card has to think about it.
