What could be wrong with my laptop not giving sound as it used to? What can I do?
The speaker might be blown. To check this, plug in some headphones and play music or watch a video from any source, if that doesn’t work, try several sources to make sure it is not a specific program; like playing music in realplayer or Windows Media Player doesn work, try Pandora or Spotify, Playing a video on YouTube doenst have any sound, try playing a video on another site that uses a non Youtube source. If you have audio under headphones, check if you are still under warranty to get it fixed.
There are some reasons that make the sound of laptop does not work.– if the speaker in laptop is turned off by software. You should make sure that the speaker is being turned on.
If the speaker is turned on already, the sound driver is not installed. Or sound driver is installed that is not right version. Please install the latest sound driver for the right OS version and right laptop model. but if it’s not due to any of the two above reasons, then it’s possible that the sound card component or speaker is broken. In this case, you should take your laptop to repairer to have it checked.
