I want to assume your daughter is a teenager, given that she stabs the prevention classes. You might need to use a different approach to handle the situation. You can try doing something simple. Take away a few things that are dear to her wand keep silent about it. She will definitely feel the pinch of loosing something. Once your daughter feels this, tell her that others are feeling the same way when they are loosing their possessions. And ask her to remember that whenever she has the urge to pick an item that doesn’t belong to her.

Alert all adults they are ever with concerning the issue so they can watch her closer. When you find out she stole something, make her return it and admit to the theft. Make her aware that any consequences that come from it, she will face it. Whether it be fines, she would have to earn money to pay off. Don’t allow her to go anywhere without constant adult supervision. If the embarrassment doesn’t get her to stop, the consequences will. You can also use the scare tactics of taking her to the police station and having an officer talk to her.
