I tell my best friend everything but she took my diary when I wasn’t there and read through, I got to find out and confronted her but she said that I shouldn’t be angry because we are besties.

Sorry to hear that. I diary is a very personal thing. It is almost an extension of yourself, given that most people write things in a diary or journal that they wouldn’t usually tell anyone else.
If your best friend read your diary without your permission, then she either figured that you were good enough friends that you wouldn’t mind, OR she gave in to the part in all of us that wants to know all the details. Either way it was not acceptable. As you have pointed out it has already created a rift. You are not a comfortable with her as you previously were.
We are in our 20’s. This is something that we all know we shouldn’t do by this age. I struggle with anxiety and depression and that journal is full of my deepest insecurities and struggles, and she read the whole thing. We have been friends for 15 years and I would never have expected her to violate my trust like this. I feel emotionally raped. Like she has picked apart my brain and now knows things that I never wanted anyone to know. I don’t trust her anymore and I want the key to my apartment back.
