Can you tel if a person is a junkie (druggie) or if they’re on some drug substance by merely looking at them?

Yes, I can yes. That’s largely because I’ve been working with people who either abuse or are dependent on alcohol or drugs since I was in my early twenties. There are plenty of obvious signs, pupil size, track marks, signs of unusual anxiety or restlessness, speech, teeth, body weight , odor etc etc . But more so with me now it is instinct, Or the feeling I get combined with what I am seeing physically. Then once the person starts talking I can tell for sure. It is something you learn to identify over time just like any other skill.
It really depends on the types of drugs you’re talking about. Marijuana usually causes the eyes to droop and become red, but caffeine and eye drops can make the effects almost undetectable. Other drugs will affect the pupils, either making them huge (psychedelics) or tiny (opiates). Uncontrollable shaking and jitters, unable to look you in the eyes, and other strange ticks can be signs of recent drug use as well.
